Books

Shipping our books to customers has been a real eye-opener for us.  Because of their weight, they cost quite a bit more to send than our other products, and they create challenges in packing them with other items.

In the US, both books together cost about $7.50 to $14.00 to mail, depending on the shipping distance from us.  A single book would be about 2/3 of that.  In addition, that extra weight requires the books and any items with them to be shipped Priority or Parcel Post, which is pricier than First Class.

Internationally, the addition of book weight to the rest of the order often pushes the postage from First Class International to Priority International, which can double the cost of mailing.

Books can be sent within the US by Media Mail.  This is a less expensive option; for example, the same 2 books above would cost $5.16 to mail, anywhere in the US.  Those who live the farthest from Ohio would see the greatest savings.  The books may take a day to a couple days longer to arrive at this lower rate.  Also, we cannot include any printed materials (packing slips/sell sheets, etc.) in the Media Mail package.

We are offering a new option on a trial basis.  In the US, if you would like your books sent by Media Mail, or if you want us to separate the books from the rest of the order to ship them by Media Mail, then type in that request in the “Purchase Notes” box that comes up during the ordering process.  Outside the US, if you want us to try to divide up your order so that it may be less expensive sending multiple packages by First Class International , please indicate that in the “Purchase Notes”.

In the shipping methods that come up during the ordering process, you will not see Media Mail as a choice.  Choose any of the options listed, and any savings seen by using Media Mail will be credited to your card in the next 1 to 2 days.  Similarly for international orders, we will credit any savings using First Class International.  We can’t guarantee that everyone will see a financial benefit from this option, but neither will it cost you more.
