The Westalee Domestic Quilting Ruler Foot allows you to free motion quilt on any domestic sewing machine with the Westalee templates.
You may also use traditional 1/4 inch thick long-arm templates but you will not be able to hold the ruler/template against all 4 sides of the low shank Westalee ruler foot. The medium and high shank feet can accommodate the 1/4 inch thick rulers/templates on all four sides of the feet.
Once your foot is mounted on the machine, you will need to center the needle so that it is in the center of the foot.
The style of foot varies depending on your machine, and we currently offer 3 different styles based on the 3500 different machines in the market today. (Options are low shank, medium shank, and high shank...see the 3 sizes in photo 1 above).
This kit is IDENTICAL to our other Westalee Ruler Starter Kit (Kit 1) selling for $55.00, except it includes the Feather Template.
Included in this Complete Starter Kit: One ruler foot (low, medium or high shank), 12” Arc Template, 3" Feather Template, adjustment guide and stable tape (see photo 2 above)
Foot & Template Thickness:
If you do not know what shank your machine is, all you need to do is lower your foot and then measure the height of the center of the hole for the screw from the needle plate. See the 2 diagrams below to determine if your machine is high shank vs low shank:

Medium Shank Ruler Foot: For Berninas, the series 7 and series 8 machines use the medium shank ruler foot with the #77 Bernina adapter. For a selection of Pfaff Machines that have a Dynamic Setting: Creative Sensation Pro, Creative Sensation, Creative Vision, Creative Performance, Creative 4.5, 4.0, 3.0, 2.0, Performance 5.0, Quilt Expression 4.2, 4.0, Expression 3.5, 3.2, 3.0, 2.0, Expression 150.(Other Pfaff models use the Low Shank Foot.)
High Shank Special Foot:
